We are pleased to share recent press about Ennead's first mass-timber project, Juno Austin. Juno is a 5-story multifamily residential project created by deploying component-based design, fabrication, and installation systems. The building consists of a ground-floor podium that includes a lobby, retail, and four floors of studio and one-bedroom residential units.
Juno Austin rethinks the design and development of multi-family residential projects with the use of a repeatable component system to accelerate the development process and a thoughtful approach to carbon reduction centered on the use of a timber structural system. The mass plywood panels (MPP) used for structural slabs and columns were fabricated by a Zero Waste facility that uses 100% of every log harvested for production. Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL) was used for structural beams. Both materials are carbon-sequestering, offering more sustainable results than typical structural systems of concrete and steel.
