On March 10 at 10:20am, Marissa Sweig Trigger—along with Andrew Sniderman, Associate at KSS Architects, and Kenneth Lacovara, Director at Edelman Fossil Park and Dean of School of Earth & Environment at Rowan University—will be speaking on Honoring History and Ensuring Future Viability at Rowan University’s Edelman Fossil Park & Museum at Society for College and University Planning’s Mid-Atlantic 2022 Regional Conference.
The presentation will explore how Rowan University’s Edelman Fossil Park—a museum, research center, and nature park sited around a fossil quarry—uses the past to inform a better future as a world-class destination for scientific discovery. The net zero facility honors the deep history of existing land while ensuring future viability by incorporating site-specific, experience-driven design that preserves the past, reduces environmental impact, and advances institutional mission. The panel will share strategies used at the Fossil Park that maximize the value of campus assets, advance community engagement, promote a healthier environment, and create a pipeline of future students.
