500 Huntington
At a nexus of Civic, University, Institutional, and sprawling public parks in Boston, MA, 500 Huntington threads the community together with a generous public plaza framed by two state-of-the-art research and development facilities.
The Project Site is located at the intersection of Huntington Avenue, Ruggles Street and Parker Street in the Fenway neighborhood of Boston. The site sits at the intersection of the Museum of Fine Arts to the North, Northeastern University to the South and East, and Wentworth Institute of Technology to the West with direct access to the MFA stop of the Heath Street Green Line and the Orange Line at Ruggles Station
The design embraces the unique opportunities in making a landmark building in the community. A slight scallop and undulation of the exterior walls breaks the linear nature of buildings of this scale without compromising the functionality of the building. A series of cantilevered and sheared volumes occupy the site with large transparent carves for public facing program.
Two towers comprised of 1Million GSF of Life Science Research and Development space with a 40% Greenhouse Gas Emissions reduction and a 95% reduction in Fossil Fuels. The project is slated to achieve LEED Gold status, incorporates onsite stormwater retention, PV panels, and is 100% EV ready.
